She closes her tiny eyes,
Spreading her body on the footpath.
The sound of exasperating flies
and days without having a bath.
The coldness present in the air,
But it’s the warmest she’s ever been.
To live a life this unfair,
Has she committed a sin?
She dozed off and drifts into a world
Which seems so utopian,
Like it’s built from a perfect mould,
And everyone seems like a friend.
With a backpack strapped on her shoulder,
And books in her hand
It’s like she’s crossed life’s boulder
And reached dreamland
She wears a uniform of identity
And a smile on her face.
She gets no looks of pity
And life’s going at a normal pace
She then opens her tiny eyes
And of course it was a dream
It could never be reality, it was all lies,
For it to be real, how nice it would seem!
